On the land in Nova Scotia

First blog post -YAY! I'm writing this post from Ottawa where we're staying the night before we fly out to Iqaluit tomorrow morning where the Nunavut Five will be splitting up. Rebekah and I will be heading further North to Pond Inlet in the afternoon.

It still hasn't quite hit me that this is actually happening... It seems surreal that I am spending the next four weeks student teaching North of 60 at Nasivvik High school. My host family has informed me that there is an iceberg right outside their house, and my cooperating teacher has proposed a trip to see a glacier in real life.

The two weekends before my journey North were spent in my current view of "on the land." I'm sure the definition of this term will change in the next few weeks as I get to explore the Nunavut. I'm posting these pictures to put my journey into perspective.

Tomorrow will be an early day of traveling, and degrees dropping - both temperature wise and latitudinally! Thanks for following me on this journey, I hope you stick around!
